We were wandering around the streets, enjoying our time. It was a beautiful day and it was a peaceful walk as the birds chirped and cats lay sprawled out in the sunlight.
The cobblestone streets shined in the sun as we walked up a hill and then into the shade of grape vines hanging over the path. There were men leaning against the wall, smoking after their afternoon meal. A few young boys ran by as they chased a ball down the hill past a baker selling fresh bread and sweets.
I observed the people as we walked, taking pictures of things that caught my eye.
As we turned a corner, I looked down a small street that was almost empty except for a girl sitting on a doorstep. She was wearing pink and sat with her hands in her lap and her head down, her dark hair falling over her face. I pulled the camera up to my face and snapped a picture, and then ran up the street to catch up with everyone else as they rounded the next corner.
