What is progress?
In the eyes of the world, the rise of an empire is the greatest glory achievable, sustained by power and wealth. But every empire that rises, also falls.
True growth is in the cracks, in the flowers that bloom from the ashes of sorrow, and true glory is where God’s redemption is seen in the beauty of transformation, when hearts of stone become hearts of flesh.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
About the painting
This painting, titled “Empire” is 11″x14″ oil on canvas. This artwork is part of a collaboration project with other artists to raise money for anti-trafficking work in Italy. Each artist contributed a piece on the theme of “New Growth” that will become a 2022 Calendar. The profits from the calendars will go towards anti-trafficking work in Italy.
